According to the Auto News featured in Business Insider, Tesla Cybertruck is making a record of sorts. The automaker has already received 1.87 lakh orders for the electric pickup truck, which was unveiled on 22 November. Cybertruck still has a tremendous interest when the vehicle’s “ultra-strong” armored glass windows shatter, demonstrating their tolerance. Much awaited performance actually.
In a tweet from the CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk stated that the automaker had received 1.87 lakh orders for Cybertruck. Earlier on November 24, Musk had reported that 1.46 lakh orders have been received, of which 42 percent of customers are dual, 41 percent tri and 17 percent single motor variants. He had also claimed that the orders were “protected without any advertising and unpaid support”.

Production of the Tesla Cybertruck is expected to begin in late 2020. The electric pickup truck is available in three variants – single-motor RWD with a range of more than 250 miles, dual-motor AWD with a range of over 300 miles and tri-motor RWD. With a range north of 500 miles.
The single-motor RWD variant of the Cybertruck can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6.5 seconds and has a turning capacity of over 7,500 pounds, while the dual-motor AWD trim speeds from 0-60 mph in under 4.5 seconds and boats towing capacity over 10,000 pounds. Tesla claims that the vehicle’s tri-motor AWD variant is good for 0-60 mph in less than 2.9 seconds and gets a towing capacity of 14,000 pounds.
The Tesla Cybertruck features an ultra-hard 30Xcold-rolled stainless-steel body and armored glass. The vehicle comes with an adaptive air suspension that can be lifted and lowered four inches in any direction. The cabin of an electric pickup truck can seat six adults. In addition, there is a 17-inch touchscreen with an all-new customized user interface.
The single motor RWD of Tesla Cybertruck is priced at USD 39,900. Dual-motor AWD and tri-motor AWD variants are available for USD 49,900 and USD 69,900 respectively. The self-driving option is USD 7,000 more expensive.
