Xiaomi launches Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Laptops in India

Xiaomi entered the laptop market back in 2016, with the launch of the Mi Notebook Air in China. Since then, the company has launched several laptops in China, including the Mi Notebook 14, Mi Notebook Pro, and the Mi Gaming laptop. However, despite receiving frequent requests from its fans in India, the company has not yet launched any of its laptops in the country. That changes today, the company has now officially launched a new Mi Notebook in India. The new Mi Notebook made a global start today through an online launch event. The new laptops come with Intel’s 10th generation processor and lightweight chassis. The company has launched two new laptops Mi Notebook 14 and Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition.

The laptop has a 14-inch full HD display. The company claims that the device comes with a 13.3-inch display. This is achievable due to slimmer than normal bezels.

The laptop weighs just 1.35 kg and the company claims that it has a screen to body ratio of 91%. The top, left and right bezels on the Horizon version are 3 mm thin. The aspect ratio of the display is 16: 9. The display gets a 178-degree viewing angle.

The Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition will be available with an Intel Core i5 10210U or Core i7 10510U processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB of M.2 NVMe storage and an Nvidia GeFX MX350 GPU. In terms of I / O, the laptop has 2 USB 3.1 Type-A ports, a USB 2.0 Type-A port, a USB Type-C port, a headphone/microphone combo jack, and an HDMI 1.4 port. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2 × 2 and Bluetooth 5.0.

The battery life claimed by the company is 10hours in a single charge and comes with a 65W-hour fast charger in the box, which has the ability to charge up to 50% of the laptop in just 30 minutes.

Looks like the laptop won’t get a webcam at the top, but Xiaomi packs a Mi HD Webcam with the laptop.

Mi Notebook 14

The regular Xiaomi Mi Notebook 14 has a similar design, however, it does not include the thin bezels offered on the Horizon version. The top and side bezels on the Mi Notebook 14 are much thicker and, therefore, have a larger footprint.

In terms of hardware, the Mi Notebook 14 will only be available with the Intel Core i5 10210U chip, coupled with 8GB of DDR4 RAM, up to 512GB of SATA 3 SSD storage, and an Nvidia GeFlex MX250 GPU on the top-end variant. The other two variants will feature Intel UHD Graphics 620.
